## Common Questions

Do I need a USASpending.gov account or Treasury credentials?

No. Anysite talks to the public USASpending API for you — your Anysite key in the access-token header is the only credential involved. No Treasury registration, no developer account, no OAuth flow.

How current is the spending data?

As current as USASpending.gov itself. Agencies report obligations on a rolling basis and most records appear within 30 days of the transaction; each call reads the live upstream API rather than a cache, so you see exactly what the portal shows.

Which award type codes search contracts versus grants?

Contracts and IDVs use ["A","B","C","D"]; grants and other assistance use ["02","03","04","05"]. One code group per request — the upstream API doesn’t mix them. To scope a keyword before pulling full records, call awards/search/count first.
