## What You Can Pull From SAM.gov

/api/samgov/entities Full contractor profile by UEI — CAGE code, registration status, business types, NAICS codes, addresses, and points of contact

/api/samgov/entities/search Search registered entities by legal business name, primary NAICS code, or state — returns the same full profile for each match

/api/samgov/opportunities Full contract opportunity by notice ID — title, type, NAICS, set-aside designation, solicitation number, response deadline, place of performance, and award details

/api/samgov/opportunities/search Search active federal contract opportunities by keyword — returns opportunity summaries with organization hierarchy and award data

/api/samgov/exclusions Full exclusion record by UUID — debarment type, excluding agency, active/terminated status, cross-references, and the party’s identity details

/api/samgov/exclusions/search Search the federal exclusion list by name, UEI, or CAGE code — with optional classification filter (Firm, Individual, etc.)

## Common Questions

What is a UEI and where do I find one?

The Unique Entity ID is the 12-character identifier every SAM.gov-registered business carries (it replaced DUNS in April 2022). It appears on the company’s SAM.gov registration page and in any contract document that names the awardee.

Do the endpoints return only active registrations?

No — you get the full record either way. Entities carry a registration_status field ("Active", "Expired", …) and a registration_expires_at date; exclusions include both active and terminated records with is_active and terminated_at, so filtering stays in your hands.

How current is the contract opportunity data?

It comes straight from SAM.gov, which agencies update in real time as they publish, amend, or close solicitations. There’s no extra caching layer on the path — a search reflects the live opportunity board at the moment you ask.
